East Harbor State Park

Here we are in site C209.  A bonus with this site is it didn't have big puddles after the heavy rain on Friday night.

The campground had a bit of a refugee-camp flair to it.

But it was a happy refugee-camp flair.

Saturday morning was a bit moody, but the rain was finished. We took a walk along East Harbor of Lake Erie.

Previous storm damage (and a guard bird) prevented us from getting very far on the boardwalk.

The lotus flowers were in full bloom!

Hello!

Julie was happy that the bikes actually rode on the sandy beach--well, mostly.  It worked much better on damp sand than on dry.

We found what looked like a secluded beach--and it was--on a cloudy, windy, choppy day.  The next day when we went back (pictures below), it was calmer and sunny--and populated with lots of boaters.

In the town of Marblehead, we found a picturesque lighthouse.

The lake more closely resembled an ocean this day.

That's Cedar Point amusement park across the bay.

A beautiful day to spend at the beach.

The water was quite warm--for a great lake.

Look around at part of the trail to our reading and swimming spot looking out onto the beach.
