Moving out of the Cincinnati house

May 14, 2022

It always seems to amaze me how much stuff you have to get rid of when you are moving into 240 square feet of living space!

Julie was a taskmaster keeping us on track going to Goodwill, electronics recycling, cleaning, organizing, and packing the camper.

On Thursday May 12th we "moved out" - we moved the camper down the street to the neighbors back yard (Thanks Rusty!).  We wanted to move out on Thursday and hand over the keys on Friday so we had some time to fix up the back yard if needed after driving over it to get the camper out.

We've dreamt so long about pulling the camper out of the driveway for the last time, and now it is finally a reality!

This is a view of the yard we haven't seen in a long time.

Rusty's property is so peaceful and pastoral. Too bad all our campsites won't be this nice!

Friday was a cleaning frenzy so we could leave the place looking fairly nice.

The entire process was made much easier by the completely wacky housing market - the buyers had put in the contract that we could leave behind "items of convenience" - i.e. leave our junk behind.

The buyers were a young couple and I think they appreciated us leaving behind a whole bunch of furniture (couch, dining room table and chairs, bedroom set, wardrobe, lawn mower, garden tools, random leftover tools, etc.)

On Saturday we left Cincinnati for scenic Normal Illinois!
